In the place where the settlement of America began, a noteworthy festival is paying homage to the customs and traditions that were an essential part of everyday life way back when.
The 2nd Annual Williamsburg Harvest Celebration is at the center of the original, authentic, tangible and visual story of America’s necessity for farm/sea to table cuisine. As the most significant trend in fine dining sweeps the nation from New York to Seattle, the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration takes visitors and culinary enthusiasts on an authentic gastronomic journey that started more than 400 years ago.
In 1607, farm/sea to table was not a fad, but a means of survival nurtured by relationships formed between the Jamestown settlers and native Americans. Today, the same land cultivated in 1607 yields culinary treasures at fine restaurants and establishments in the region. The Williamsburg Harvest Celebration honors the land used to shape the nation and the culinary lifestyle found in the kitchens of America. The Historic Triangle is America’s original farm-to-table destination.
During the 10-day event in the Greater Williamsburg area (Jamestown, Yorktown and Williamsburg) November 4-13, you will have the opportunity to eat, drink and learn while attending any of the 30 culinary events highlighting chefs, farmers, artisans, foragers, authors, brewers, vintners, watermen and culinary historians. Through food, people come together to create a community.
Williamsburg Harvest Celebration is a collaborative effort with the City of Williamsburg, James City County and York County, managed by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance. The event invites people to connect to the places and people who bring great fresh local area cuisine to the region. Charitable donations will benefit Meals on Wheels, Southern Foodways Alliance, FISH and the VA Fresh Food Fund.
